With the
understanding that at any time in life, a family or individual may be faced
with a crisis situation, including illness, loss of employment, or death of
a loved one, Bossier Office of Community Services has a number of programs
aimed at helping community residents through devastating times.
Although
our agency’s overall goal is long-term self-sufficiency for the residents of
communities, these programs will allow persons the opportunities to rebuild
their lives and ultimately regain self-sufficiency.
Rental/Mortgage Assistance:
provides
eviction, rental assistance, search, placement, and stabilization services
to low-income tenants, at-risk families and individuals to maintain or
obtain secure housing by providing rental or mortgage payments. This is a
critical service needed to secure an apartment/and/or provide homelessness
prevention when tenants fall behind in their rent or mortgage payments.
Emergency Utility Assistance:
helps
households faced with the threat of having their utilities disconnected. In
addition to assisting eligible clients with cut-off notices, the program
also assists with reconnect and late fee payments.
Emergency Prescription Assistance:
is
intended to provide one-time help to eligible clients for essential pharmacy
items.
